She also greeted each of the kids in her neighborhood just as she would an adult. This sweet girl loves everyone she meets. She greets you with a wiggling butt and a smile (she literally smiles all the time). Nutmeg does well in the car and she also walks very well on a leash. She loves to explore outside and play, but she also loves to sit inside with blankets and a pillow and cuddle up with her human. Nutmeg is ready for her forever home. 01188 | 9 years | Male | Meet Snuggles. Snuggles is a nine year old five pound Poodle who is a new arrival. Snuggles was given up by his owner due to him no longer eating. Upon his arrival with us, we noticed green stuff oozing out of his mouth and eyes. Snuggles will go to the vet on Monday and get a dental and anything else he needs to get him back on the right track. Snuggles is a very happy guy who is so content snuggling in his bed with his comfy blanket. He is house and crate trained. Snuggles would love a home with a warm lap and lots of hugs and kisses. 01186 | 18 months | Male | Merle came to us last week along with his brothers from a shelter in West Virginia. Merle was one of 41 dogs that were seized in April. Merle and the other 40 dogs spent the last few months in a shelter until the court case was over. Merle is now ready to find a home of his own. Merle is house and crate trained. Merle was very fearful when he arrived with us but is learning very quickly what it is to be loved. He does good with other dogs and would do great with another female dog. 01184 | 18 months | Male | Calvin is a one year old Boston Terrier that arrived last week. He was one of 41 dogs that were seized from one home. Calvin has lived in a cage with other dogs his entire life with very little socialization. When Calvin arrived last week, he could not and would not walk on a leash. After only 3 days Calvin has excellent leash skills and makes fantastic eye contact. He learned how to sit in a matter of minutes. Calvin needs a someone to take the leadership role and show him how to be a dog. He would do great with a strong handler who will take him to obedience school. Calvin is not house trained, but we are working on it. Although Calvin is neutral with other dogs, we feel he would do best as the only dog in the home. She learned "sit" and "come" with ease, and will "boop" your hand if there's a treat inside! She gets along well with the other dog in the house, and is so small that the cats hardly notice she's there. She loves playing fetch with her toys and exploring outside. She is crate trained, but would rather snuggle in your bed if you'd let her. She'll be a little shy at first, and then she'll be your little shadow. This big boy loves to use his nose to smell everything and anything as you can imagine. Tank would love a family or companion that is super active and wants to take him places. He needs some guidance and control on leash training and would benefit from some basic obedience training. Tank seems to do well with cats and dogs and has been around children of all ages. 01180 | 18 months | Female | All rescue dogs have a story. Some are long while others are short. Some are sad and some are really sad. Some we will never know their story and others we wish we could forget what we know. Beeja pronounced BeeJuh was named by her rescuer. Beeja means new beginning in Hindu, and that is exactly what Beeja needs. Beeja had a litter of puppies that arrived last month. You may remember them, they were the Spice Girls. Her owner would not give Beeja up when he surrendered the puppies to the rescue. They offered to pay to spay her, and the older gentleman accepted the offer. When it came time to take Beeja to the vet for the appointment, they never heard from the gentleman. After some research, they found a post on Facebook that stated he was murdered. They broke his arms and legs and murdered him. The gentleman's family was contacted, and they decided to give Beeja to the rescue who in turn asked us for help. We were so happy to help this little girl as we were so sad that she wouldn't come with her puppies. Beeja is a 1.5 year old Jack Russell mix? She is about 13 pounds and loves everyone. She does great with other dogs and cats but prefers to be with her people. She is house and crate trained. Beeja enjoys long walks in the park where she meets everyone with a wagging tail and a lick across the face. We are looking for a family who will take over the lifestyle that she has been living in her foster home....daily walks and meeting people. She is learning all about toys and chew bones. Beeja is a special girl that deserves a special family. She misses her Dad and loves men so a household with a couple would be what we prefer. Want to meet Beeja? He spent a while in the floor of a trailer until animal control came in and saved him. He is now in a foster home and thriving. His hair is growing back, and he is coming out of his shell.
